Publication Ethics

EX-JICS Publication Ethics

EX-JICS – EnergeticaX Journal of Energy, Intelligence and Complex Systems is committed to maintaining the highest standards of scientific integrity, editorial independence, transparency, and responsible scholarly publishing.

Authors are expected to submit original manuscripts that have not been published previously and are not simultaneously under consideration elsewhere. All sources, datasets, software, and prior work must be properly acknowledged and cited.

The journal does not tolerate plagiarism, duplicate publication, fabricated or falsified data, manipulated images, undisclosed conflicts of interest, or any other form of scientific misconduct.

Editors evaluate manuscripts exclusively on the basis of their scientific quality, originality, methodological rigor, and relevance to the aims and scope of the journal, without discrimination based on nationality, institutional affiliation, gender, political views, or personal beliefs.

Reviewers are expected to provide objective, constructive, confidential, and timely evaluations that contribute to improving the scientific quality of submitted manuscripts.

Authors, reviewers, and editors share collective responsibility for maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record.

EX-JICS follows internationally recognized principles of responsible research publication while applying its own transparent editorial procedures appropriate to an independent scholarly journal.

Peer Review Policy

EX-JICS applies a rigorous editorial evaluation process designed to ensure scientific quality, methodological soundness, and editorial fairness.

Every submitted manuscript undergoes a two-stage evaluation.

Stage 1 — Editorial Screening

The Editorial Office evaluates each submission for:

  • compliance with the journal's aims and scope;

  • originality and scientific relevance;

  • completeness of the manuscript;

  • compliance with ethical and formatting requirements;

  • initial quality assessment supported by AI-assisted editorial tools.

Manuscripts that do not satisfy these basic requirements may be returned to the authors prior to peer review.

Stage 2 — Peer Review

Manuscripts that successfully pass the editorial screening are evaluated by independent reviewers with relevant scientific expertise.

Reviewers assess:

  • originality;

  • scientific significance;

  • methodological quality;

  • clarity of presentation;

  • validity of conclusions;

  • adequacy of references.

Editorial decisions may include:

  • Accept;

  • Minor Revision;

  • Major Revision;

  • Reject.

The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for the final publication decision.

All editorial decisions are based solely on scientific merit.

AI-Assisted Editorial Screening

To improve editorial efficiency and enhance publication quality, EX-JICS incorporates artificial intelligence as a decision-support tool during the initial editorial assessment of submitted manuscripts.

AI-assisted screening may include:

  • plagiarism and similarity assessment;

  • duplicate publication detection;

  • reference consistency checking;

  • language quality evaluation;

  • structural completeness analysis;

  • logical consistency assessment;

  • identification of potential ethical concerns.

Artificial intelligence is used exclusively to support editorial workflows.

AI systems do not replace scientific peer review, editorial judgment, or responsibility for publication decisions.

All editorial decisions are made by the Editorial Board based on scientific quality, methodological rigor, originality, and reviewer recommendations.

Authors remain fully responsible for the scientific accuracy, integrity, and originality of their work.
