EX-JICS — EnergeticaX Journal of Energy, Intelligence and Complex Systems

The EnergeticaX Journal of Energy, Intelligence and Complex Systems (EX-JICS) is an international peer-reviewed open-access journal published by EnergeticaX Institute Ltd under the EnergeticaX Press imprint.

The journal provides an interdisciplinary platform for high-quality research exploring the convergence of energy systems, artificial intelligence, decision intelligence, and complex adaptive systems. It welcomes theoretical, computational, methodological, and applied contributions addressing scientific and engineering challenges arising from the increasing integration of intelligent technologies into modern technical, economic, environmental, and social systems.

EX-JICS promotes research that bridges traditional disciplinary boundaries and supports the development of reliable, transparent, and human-centered approaches to scientific discovery, engineering practice, and strategic decision-making.

The journal publishes original research articles, review papers, perspectives, methodological contributions, case studies, and invited editorials.

Editorial Philosophy

EX-JICS was established to promote interdisciplinary research at the intersection of energy systems, artificial intelligence, decision intelligence, and complex adaptive systems.

The journal encourages scientific dialogue across traditional disciplinary boundaries while maintaining rigorous academic standards.

Our editorial philosophy is guided by several fundamental principles:

  • scientific integrity;

  • intellectual openness;

  • methodological rigor;

  • transparency;

  • interdisciplinary collaboration;

  • responsible use of artificial intelligence;

  • practical relevance of scientific research.

We believe that the future of science depends not only on generating new knowledge but also on improving the quality, reliability, and societal value of scientific decision-making.

About This Inaugural Issue

The inaugural issue has been intentionally composed primarily of invited contributions prepared by the founding editorial team.

These articles establish the scientific directions, editorial philosophy, and publication standards that will guide future issues of EX-JICS.

Beginning with subsequent issues, the journal welcomes submissions from the international research community through its regular peer-review process.

Message from the Editor-in-Chief

Building Reliable Knowledge for an Intelligent World

Welcome to the inaugural issue of EX-JICS — EnergeticaX Journal of Energy, Intelligence and Complex Systems.

Scientific progress has always been driven by the emergence of new questions. Today, humanity is entering an era in which the complexity of technological, economic, environmental, and social systems exceeds the capacity of traditional disciplinary boundaries. Energy systems are becoming intelligent. Artificial intelligence is increasingly embedded in critical infrastructure. Decision-making is shifting from isolated expertise toward collaborative human–AI environments. These transformations demand not only new technologies, but also new scientific frameworks capable of integrating knowledge across disciplines.

EX-JICS was established in response to this challenge.

The journal provides an international platform for rigorous research connecting energy systems, artificial intelligence, decision intelligence, engineering, sustainability, and complex adaptive systems. Our objective is not merely to publish scientific results, but to encourage dialogue between disciplines that have too often evolved independently despite addressing common problems.

As Editor-in-Chief, I believe that the future of scientific progress will depend less on the volume of available information than on our ability to transform information into reliable knowledge and sound decisions. In this context, the journal seeks to support research that combines scientific rigor with practical relevance and interdisciplinary thinking.

The Editorial Board welcomes contributions from researchers, engineers, policymakers, and practitioners whose work advances understanding of complex systems and contributes to the development of reliable, transparent, and responsible decision-making.

On behalf of the Editorial Board, I thank our authors, reviewers, and readers for becoming part of this new scientific initiative.

We hope that EX-JICS will become a forum where new ideas are examined critically, diverse perspectives are welcomed, and scientific collaboration contributes to solving the challenges of the twenty-first century.
